The Indo Nippon Golf Cup (INGC) was first held in 2006 with the objective to develop social and economic relations of the people of Japan and India enabling enhancement of their personal relations.

H.E. Y. Enoki, Ambassador of Japan to India, the initiator and Chief Guest of the first INGC, and the support of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India (JCCII) by their president Mr.Miyachi the tournament announced the setting up of the japan Desk in the PHD Chamber of Commerce and industry. The Chief Guest representing the Indian side was Cabinet Secretary Mr. B.K. Chaturvedi who delighted all with his excellent charm.

INGC 2007 was organised to promote the “India-Japan Tourism Year”. The Chief Guest representing Japan was Mr. K. Takewaka, Minister Economic, Embassy of Japan and from India Mr. P.V. Bhide, Revenue Secretary, Ministry of Finance. IATO & JNTO supported the tournament to promote tourism between the two countries.

INGC 2008 was organized with the theme “Cool the Earth –Initiative” for promoting environmental technologies of Japan to India. The Chief Guest representing Japan was H.E. H. Domichi, Ambassador of Japan and from India Special Secretary Mr. Dinesh Jain, Ministry of External affairs.

INGC 2009 was organized to promote the theme of New & Renewable Energy technologies in India. The Chief Guest representing Japan was H.E. H. Domichi, Ambassador of Japan and from India Mr. Deepak Gupta Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The JCCII was represented by Mr. Kawamura.

INGC 2010 was organized to promote Japan-India focus on “General Development of Japanese Industries in India especially SMEs”, and to invite Indian investment in Japan. The Chief Guests from Japan side was H.E. H. Domichi, Ambassador of Japan and Mr. S. Watanabe, President –JCCII and from India side Mr. Amitabh Kant, Managing Director & CEO, Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Ltd., Mr. Uday Kumar Verma, Secretary, Ministry of MSMEs were the Guest of Honour.

INGC 2011 focuses on development in tourism, Urban Development and Auto component in the SME sector.


INGC 2016 focuses on Indian investment to Japan, Japanese investment in Infrastructure and Technology tie ups and soft skilling of the Japanese companies workers.
